For us workers

For us workers
time stands still.
Alarm clock, wake up at six in the morning, quick breakfast,
one hour by bus, eight hours of work,
one hour back home, dinner, beer
and to the bed.

For us workers
time stands still.
We don’t count days anymore, just
hours, minutes
to break and from break to finish.

And so the days, weeks, years pass,
and finally you stand in the morning in front of the mirror
and while counting wrinkles, you say:
„Hey man, you got old a little bit,
it was a tough week!”
And ten years have passed.
In the warehouse time stands still.
