Forbidden

So here I was, cold and insane
Broken, beyond repair.
Hopes were kept on leash,
And nights passed in despair.
But then, you came around.
Sparkling eyes, shining hopes.
The heart skipped a beat or two,
The leash came down the slopes.
As you talk to me and smile
I sit there, basking in your rays.
Like there's nothing brighter than you,
I sublime in your warmth with days.
For you are the sun for me
But I'm a cold sheet of snow.
As close as you get to me,
I melt down to nothing and flow.
Cause you are that fire
Which is now forbidden to touch.
But you are that desire
Hardly resistible as such.
So what I do is stop and smile
But never get too close.
As that can bring those hopes unleashed,
And your warmth can turn overdose.
