Forbidden Fruit

Forbidden fruit,
that's what you are.
At first touch of your firm flesh,
I thought you would be mine forever.
but, you were already taken.
I knew you were too good to be true.
yet, you rolled into my bowl anyway,
often bringing others along.
Sometimes we mixed it up well.
And sometimes we didn’t,
But there were always you.
I would do anything to have
my forbidden fruit.

After trying some rotten ones,
I knew you were ripe for me.
Though you cannot be mine,
you were mine in those moments
when I indulged your succulence
and savored your sweet nectar.
I wanted to swallow your seeds,
Just to keep some part of you forever.
For there’s an ache in my belly.
I yearn for you to the core.
For I fell in love at first bite.
