Forbidden Fruit

I felt a rush as I had touched the rose
It had a beauty from a distance
So riveting, couldn't miss it
Magnetized, no compromise, it hypnotized my eyes
Passion like a fire burning inside, aside from the siren on the side
I took no heed, just gained speed
Through all obstacles, emotional not logical
Modest to think the key could be at the end of my travels
I learn, so as I get close
Don't slow down, you're almost there now
Too proud to stop, I almost have the key to my lock
The lust for the elegance of the view, I adorn, had me torn
When I arrived, I could not deny the rose full of thorns
