Forbidden Love

I am in awe at his energy,
His power,
The beauty of the jagged black and white lines,
that stripe across his features,
I am in love with his strength,
The broadness of his figure,
The bold pride,
In his blackness,
The dark scars,
Lining the curved shapes,
of his broad back,
He carries the weight of a thousand people.
I am enthralled by the resilience in his eyes,
The promise of his grace,
The scent of his presence,
Like sweet cologne in the air.
We will marry in the hills of freedom,
Where I will paint his colors,
Across black canvases.
He is my first love.
He is the resistance,
The black revolution,
And I am in love with him.
