Forbidden Love

Souls bind to one another like vines
Whenever the heart thumps to its usual pride
But you and I stand on a different line
Not the ones of the simple type
By dawn you rise while I fade away
Onto the throne of your ever-dazzling place
You guard the light that brings the world to daze
And the heat that leaves them all in haze
Yet by dusk I’m awake while you slump into bed
Looking over the land with soaring dream jets
I shed all the loneliness one may find
And tears that are kept in every hidden chest
You see, my love,
We are not meant to be in sync
No time is left for you and me to meet
You live where the grass is green
My palace lies where no one can reach
You sit on a patch of burning flame
I belong on mat that floats on waves
My love,
This story of ours will not see the end
No matter how much sacrifice we lend
So here I write, my last letter to you
Before I leave your side for good
