Foreshadow

She won't take him for granted
Granted the fact she already has
Her past is questionable
Though the answer lies in our future
Here goes her present
I've gift-wrapped the world
Only had my heart to give
We both know she's worth much more
Her self-worth is priceless
Her imperfections are flawless details
But her past is questionable
Please answer soon, though faith is never too late
I've been waiting and waiting
Procrastinating, maybe because I'm scared
Fearing her past had foreshadowed her future
Four shadows follow behind us
God, the Holy Spirit, Jesus, and
This last shadow had no name
It was the pain she had been carrying for years
Too attached to let go
Holy water washes away her sins
Her hurt is a burden
That she will not carry forever
As she looks forward to better tomorrows
