Forest Song

Forest, oh, forest,
I hear your song
Beginning:
Saplings planted in
Dead of night,
Blessed to become
Giants.
Forest, oh, forest,
Such melody
You offer:
Fledglings shall
Learn to soar
High above your
Branches.
Forest, oh, forest,
What is that
Dreadful sound?
Men invade,
Strip you bare-
Leave nothing but
Loud void.
Forest, oh, forest.
What have we done?
Who now will hear
Your song?
