Forge Ahead

The road lies barren,
I alone travel.
The sky cracks and moans,
The trees stubbornly try to resist,
I forge ahead.

Another flash,
This one hits its mark.
Trees burst into flames,
The sky rumbles its victory,
I forge ahead.

The darkness closes in,
Lighting screams across the sky,
Rain pelts the ground,
Like bullets.

Frozen and alone,
The trees stubbornly refusing to move,
I forge ahead
