There have been days of turbulent storms
I’ve lived through blasphemous scorn
Betrayal, denial, my heart has been torn
Though the scars are raised and blackened
Memories elude me, I’ve forgotten…

I’ve, forgotten the fear, forgotten the pain
I’ve forgotten the way I cried in shame
I remember the victory springing from change
I remember the wisdom and knowledge I gained

But the lies and jokes have all blown away
The schemes and evil melt into yesterday
So, I believe I’ll forgive and just walk today,
Like I never knew the feel of rain
Memories elude me anyway; I’ve forgotten
