Fort McMurray Pride

the city was where I called home
My roots there are planted
From a youth to now grown
Who would've thought
Was always a doubt
One road to get in only one to get out
The city deserted just smoke street to street
Refusing defeat I stayed home went to sleep
Awoke in the day every word of this true
Looked out my back window to a horrific view
Black billowing smoke wild uncontrolled
flames
Are memories branded now scarrs remained stained
My son calls its time to get out of there
mom
You've done all you can get out of there run
The day I returned I broke down and cried
So glad to be back Fort McMurray pride.
