Free with You

With you, I felt numb.
No one could tell me you were not the one.
Without you, I am lost.
I know I cannot always be right,
but I thought that with you I would never be wrong.

Now I am here seeing myself as you did.
Perspective, perspective.
I'm still the masterpiece you said I was,
but I missing you--my frame.

Where did you go?
You're still here, but not as close.
I love you at your distance.
I guess you released me from that cage of a relationship,
letting me free to discover myself.

With you, I felt free;
You let me soar in my uniqueness.
Now that you've let go, I feel trapped;
I am unsure of how to fly on my own.
