Freedom, Why?

By

Looking at the sky.
Feeling like a domesticated animal,
yearning to be wild.
Never willing the strength.

A door,
the only true barrier.
The only physical barrier.

The mind over powers the hearts temporary temptation
I look skyward, expecting stars,
I see the ceiling.

I don't howl,
I don't scream,
All I do is sigh.

Knowing I'll never be free,
Because I don't want to be.
