Fresh Start

By

How could you believe in me like I do,
Gave myself a fresh start to learn something new.
I tell self if it lives in my mind it can become real,
In a mirror facing demons to say I love me is surreal.
At the time seemed like a good and bad way,
Meetings helped to be clean just for today.
Sponsors are great so we will be held accountable,
Amidst you I am stronger letting nothing be allowable.
Is there anyone besides me who feels cursed,
Stories like mine are wrote out to be rehearsed.
A movie better left not filmed for me to relive,
Harsh reality relapsing I couldn't fathom to forgive.
Use caution and proceed at your own risk,
Got my swag on and my mental fixed.
Wanting to live out my days in that awful calamity,
Honestly to do so would be pure insanity.
I am human and have standards to live by,
That's exactly what I plan to do till the day I die.
Today I stay humble and kind,
Letting go of pushing buttons to rewind.
Moral becomes my testimony and that's plausible,
My life today I can achieve the impossible.
My heavenly father plays a huge part,
He kept me alive so I could see my fresh start.
