Friendship

There once was a time where we were close.
A time when we needed each other the most.
I picked you up when you fell down.
You carried me when I hit the ground.
A simple hello led us here.
We crossed our bridge and held each other dear.
But then you began to drift.
Our friendship began to shift.
You turned your back and left me alone.
You tried to leave me here, on my own.
Instead, I walked away first.
You never noticed because you were immersed.
Immersed because you are selfish.
My feelings for you suddenly vanished.
I lit our bridge on fire.
With it, all of my desire.
I watched our friendship burn
The fact that you burned with it, was no longer my concern.
