From the Reef

Your lustrous beginnings
Your nebulous fading
A kind of hunted foreboding
And the doors left open
Finally closing

Chapters of you
They come to an end
Like the roots of a tree
By a shoreline descends

You pull soil from my feet

Your stability softens
Like hair fine grass
And I've whispered for waters
That only come to pass

Its mischievous tides
That curl from beneath
I watch your hands sink back
Here from the reef
