Gently Rising

A more grounding effect cannot be found
Than in the hand held, bed made, words given
That send a soul on even
A gently rising path.

The bird who flies the blue knows too
Solid of earth, the view from tree.
A knowledge feathered out in earning time,
She shares for groundlings (of no fault
of their own) owning her own stature
On earth and in sky,
To drop seeds across the lands.
