George H W Bush
The yet unturned pages of history
Stood watch as time stood still,
While he waited in the waters of the pacific,
To let time glance at the plans of God.
Life's ladders he quickly climbed
Building the foundations of future,
And created a tight-knit family
But, reticence he preferred with his rescue.
As if propelled by the war experience
Diverse areas of work he pursued,
Sowing seeds in the field of politics
Until, in it, he ascended high.
Among the pages of history he stands
Holding hands with three presidents,
Like Van Buren, Jefferson and John Adams
Ascending high from vice presidency.
He'd passed down his political genes
To two sons, and with one, he grinned wide
Holding hands with John Adams
As the only two with father-son duo.
He sought peace in a world of strife,
Germany, he unified, and Cold War, he ended.
In the heart of America, he inscribed much memory,
And joined in heaven with his wife and child.
