Getting Older

Getting older emulates becoming a teenager
All over again I feel young but age is my major
No longer a minor, now taxes and wagers
Experimental thrills keeping my mind sharp as a razor

The approach in areas new and empowering as the first
Breaking away from youth as in marriage I divorced
Career and relationships I have but and rehearsed
And still have that innocent hope for Better or Worse
I wake up slower, not so pure or easy on the eyes
Im consoled to surmise I'm so much more wise

For the ever after happy ending I thirst
Giving all of myself and putting someone else first
As a woman singularly content and quite secure
Knowing no coincidences only fates powerful lure
Having a magnetic strength finally reveals it's purpose
Showing rewards of selfless giving bringing love to surface
Now a mother having my own aging
Growing up in a day of computers, cell phones and pagers
The difference now in fact is I've become a mature tamed-ager
