Darkness surrounds me;
I'm hardly breathing
choking, hoping
someone will save me

A light is alight
it shines in my eyes
blinding me, finding me
someone's arrived!

I reach for it happily,
Grabbing it rapidly
Damming the nagging
Truth of reality

I'm still not fixed completely;
I don't think I ever will be.
But the support in your rapport
made the road ahead less bumpy

Now grateful for life, as I should be,
I take pleasure in life's precious monotony.
Aghast at ghastly ghosts of my past,
I owe everything to the darkness
that once surrounded me.
