Gleam of a Dream

A glimmer of hope shines brilliantly bright
It pierces right through the dead of the night
When monsters come out to threaten and snare
And shadows creep out of cracks everywhere
There's a heavy heart and a shortness of breath
It consumes its surroundings, and there's nothing left
But a sparkle is caught in the corner of an eye
And it dances along like snow in the sky
It grows in the sunlight but fades in the dark
And fear takes a leap after one short spark
Then heaviness rolls over like slow ocean waves
Try not to drown in those undersea caves
It's a thin layer of slight-broken glass
That scared little toes tip-toe over too fast
When ground starts to shake and gravity shoves
Remember that gleam of a dream that loves
