Glimmer

Our pathway of entanglement,

Perpetuated from remorseful dilated eyes that
Skimmed a 1,000 faces walking down the aisles,
Down to their lovers, their beauties, their brides,
As our pain stricken faces wished for the heartbreakers of our lives

Chimes from the wedding chapel of the women you'd kiss,
Under the covers with such ferocity and tryst,
While the wife I cease to be glimmers away in diction,
Your essence and my memories become bittersweet friction.

A thousand faces could no longer produce,
How your lungs breathe fire and your kisses ecstasy,
A fateful truth,
And yet my sour and reluctant heart must go,
When an arrhythmia from your pulse tells me
This will be a fatal blow.

Our pathway to resurrection builds up but our resistance glistens
An hourglass shattered by lover's inflictions.
Yet I ache to harvest your warmth in a blanket of lies
And keep pretending my soul isn't a glowing smile.
