Glitter

Glitter is a lie

Sparkle will not swarm empty eyes,
Or fill the palms of people attached
Like paper dolls, drained by damning
Notions, never to dance freely,
Taken fully by noise, will we
Find freedom in ourselves

Can we fight with no soul left
Or will the gray sky circle overhead
Dead man walking, come and cut the
Circle out of me, inward I will fall

Hold onto the sides
With no handles
Hold onto me
With no hands

A puppet plays instruments tonight
Circle, circle around that ice
Falling, creating cracks, crumble, collapse

A plethora of voices have found a new type of silence
Swimming with the glitter, are we alive?
