God's Masterpiece Completed

Gazing at God’s creation
Fills one with awestruck wonder.
All manmade imitation
Compared to it is blunder.

Hear nature’s musical theme:
The chirp of a chickadee,
The soft trickle of a stream,
The blithe buzzing of a bee.

In blue skies and rocky tow’rs;
Through His art we see the King,
Even in the budding flow’rs.
Of His glory nature sings!

However, contained within
Creation bears frustration.
Groaning from the wounds of sin,
It waits in expectation.

Someday our Lord will return
To awaken His great plan.
A refining fire shall burn,
Making all things pure again.

Then will God’s work be fulfilled.
Earth and Heav’n shall be made new,
Every sin vanquished and stilled.
Death’s grip we shall bid, “Adieu.”

Though nature’s current beauty
None but the Lord can surpass,
I wait for the Almighty
To make it complete at last!
