…going back to bed

“…going back to bed after a long day”
And so it is from you that
I arise,
and begin my daily journey,
though the destination
is not always the same,
the obstacles remain
And so I wade through
the murky swamp
that is life,
the filth of emotion,
anger, sadness, despair,
and the purity of feeling
joy, satisfaction, love
all clamp to me
my clothes, my skin, my hair
have filled me
up to the brim
And sometimes,
I am pent up
red-hot and steaming
with anger
turned to sadness,
happiness that lasts
not long enough
Though I know people
whom which I can direct
myself to,
it is sometimes they
who I want to erupt about
And so I can only hope
I can make it to the end of the day
without breaking
so I can finally open up
to you
where I can freely
rage, weep
and add a new definition of pillow talk
and once I am done
I fall asleep
whisked away by dreams
To distract me from the eternal journey
that is life.
