Gold

Just another lie
another secret,
he promised forever
but he didn\'t mean it.

He swore to protect her
no matter the cost,
but he was the reason
that her life was lost.

Her blood dripped to the floor
as she looked in his eyes,
the knife in his hand
her back carved with lies.

He wanted someone
who was made of gold,
but she was silver
and he was cold.

He carved out her heart
as he looked in her eyes,
told her he loved her
but it was all lies.

She took both his hands
still covered in blood,
she looked into his eyes
loaded her gun.

She dropped to the floor
The silver melting away,
he then saw the gold
she had hidden away.

He dropped to his knees
as he watched his love die,
he\'d never seen so much gold
for he was blinded by his lies.
