Golden Hour Skateboarding

The golden sunshine beaming through the tree, and my hair falling into my face
Learning to control the board with my right foot leading
Gaining skate skills at a moderate pace
When I’m ready I’ll be flying down streets and sidewalks speeding

Focusing on my form to keep me balanced
Feeling the wind hitting my face and hearing the wheels rolling against the pavement
Keeping steady on the board, feeling challenged
Saying that the sun looked beautiful would be an understatement

My music was matching the mood of the day
I felt my body jolt back as I was losing control of the board
Falling with a huge thud, I looked up at the sky with dismay
With scraps on my hands and arms I couldn’t help but look at the sun I adored

Getting up with some pain especially in my shin
I got back on the board and let the sunshine hit my skin
