Gone Forever

He said those words to make me forget,
but all I can think about was his regret.
No longer his,
I fall and fall deeper.

When I look at him,
my heart skips a beat.
Never being in his arms again,
does so much harm to my beating heart.

His touch still lingers,
like a faded memory.
A memory that won't go away,
a memory embedded in my soul.

His words always right,
but always come out wrong.
He was my shelter,
now he's forever gone.
