Good Grief

For once,
I am not chasing pain as a form of punishment.

Rather,
I am embracing the opportunity
to feel it as reward.

My pain—for once—
is not a bitter sting.

but a sweet and pure sadness.

A pain evoked of the loss of an even greater joy.

How nice it is to have had something
that warrants grief after its loss.
