Good Grief

Thoughts of you look to the past
Three years later since you passed
A presence with profound affects
A loss with lasting side effects
Cloudy skies for countless days
Now the sun is out to clear the daze
The storm has passed there’s no more rain
Warm loving thoughts are all that reign
Bedtime dreams still keep you here
Your sound advice well always hear
Fading memories when you were close
Now doors and chapters that had to close
Reflecting on what once was ours
Reminds us of the final hours
We wished for your eternal peace
You left, we fell to many piece
Now we welcome each new morning
And celebrate instead of mourning
For all the years you bore such weight
Till we meet again is worth the wait.
