Good Hope

A dash of red over the Great Swamp trees
Connects a special truth to me
In times of fear, and trials, and strife
In times of joy, contentment, and life

A dash of red over the old train tracks
Brings my mind to my spirit's pact
To never forget the One who Saves
And that His love He freely Gave

A dash of red over the carriage house roof
Leaves in my heart the ever lasting proof
That He will Love me, and never Forsake me
Nobody out of His hand can take me

A dash of red over the ranch on the acre
Harkens me to the call of my Maker
Who tickles my ears like a timeless church bell
By His Grace and Mercy does my heart fuller swell

A dash of red over my new back yard
Reminds me that my friend is not far
And though always failing, and I all around scope
He will send me cardinals as a sign of Good Hope
