Good night

She pushes open the shiny glass window,
Exposing herself to the frigid night air.
As her bare feet hit the floor,
Dust swirls around her.
A drop of cool rain hits her forehead and soaks into her skin.
As one drop turns to many the dust becomes mud.
The pitter patter of rain gets louder, soothing the girls nerves.
All she saw was black.
She stepped forward letting the darkness consume her.
“Good night.”
