Good Night

The lurid night hath cloaked the sun calmly,
Thou art sleeping softly beneath the moon,
Night breezes seem to whisper “I love thee”,
Gazing at thee intently makes me swoon.

Birds are singing in the sycamore trees,
But nothing canst beat thy hush lullaby,
And love, while I’m with thee, I feel at ease,
I’ll lock thee with arms like there’s no goodbye.

Stars are falling but I’ll linger on dear,
And my everlasting love shall not fade,
Even if the vast night sky will be clear,
As long as you’re with me, my life won’t shade.

Though I’ll be ill with some bothersome night,
I know I’ll be well for thee are my light.
