Good Things Come To Those That Take

Good things come to those that wait.
I wait for success, yet never work for it.
I wait for hope, yet never feel it.
I wait for love, yet never embrace it.
I wait. I wait. I wait.
No longer do I want to wait.

I want to love.
I want to hope.
I want to succeed.
And I will.

I met him at the parking lot.
Deep, tunneled, cocoa eyes
Rosy lips
I was nothing to him.
Ignored, insignificant, nothing.
For the first time in my life, I hoped.
I hoped for him.
For the first time in my life, I loved.
I loved him.
For the first time in my life, I succeeded.
He was mine.
No longer do I wait
I take.
