Goodbye

I'm sitting here trying my hardest not to cry.
Trying to open up my eyes to the good in goodbye,
But you know what they say love is blind.
Goodbye two words put together, words I can't seem to find.
Two words put together like you and I.
Why couldn't we just give it one last try?
I remember those days when you made my life better,
Those cold winter nights when you'd wrap me in your sweater.
From your lips to your eyes to the smell of you,
Memories of us is all have now that were through.
I'd give anything just to have you back,
What can I do to get this love on track?
Goodbye two words put together, words I can't seem to find.
Two words put together, like our hearts forever entwined.
If there's a good in goodbye I don't need to know,
My love for you is something I know I'll never outgrow.
