Goodbye Old Me

We were deep in love,
Carried upon a cloud by doves.
She put my hand upon my cheek,
She kissed me.
So this was love.
I was no longer the nerdy kid,
I was the fashion guru.
That's all she wanted.
The old me buried deep underground,
My old lips forbidden to make a sound.
All I wanted was her,
So I let her edit me.
Slimmer waist,
A more beautiful face.
She said we can't let potential go to waste.
I miss the old me,
But I could never live without her.
She kisses me once more,
Thoughts fade away.
This is worth it,
Goodbye old me.
