Gossamer Whispers at Dawn

Morning drapes in silver lace,
Soft as a sigh, frail as a face
That time once traced, then left behind—
A phantom stitched in fabric fine.

The wind weaves secrets through the trees,
A hymn too light for ears to seize,
Yet somewhere in the hush between,
A name is spoken, lost, unseen.

Each thread of mist, each web of dew,
Unspools the past, then fades from view.
The morning calls, the echoes fly,
A whisper’s weight too thin to die.

And so the dawn, in trembling grace,
Sings ghosts of hands it can't embrace.
Soft gossamer, too weak to keep,
Too strong to vanish, too light to weep.

This Poems Story

Background: The poem captures the fragility of memory and the transient nature of human connection. The morning mist and delicate fabric imagery reflect the way past moments linger, almost tangible, but slip away before they can be fully grasped. \"Gossamer whispers\" symbolize the soft voices of the past loved ones, lost lovers, fleeting emotions that visit in the early quiet. The wind carries these whispers, revealing how history clings to the present in subtle, nearly imperceptible ways. The poem ends on a bittersweet note, acknowledging that while these echoes may be ephemeral, they never fully disappear.
