Government Priorities

Government Priorities

Its really sad to see our troops come home
With protesters in the streets
When they are fighting for your freedom and theirs
What is it that you seek
They have no choice to be over there
They are played like a game of chess
So give them respect and a helping hand
Because they are doing their best
Some of those men on the battle field
Have been through hell and have really seen a lot
Then they come home and get no help
Sleeping under stairs or in a
Cardboard box
The government sends billions
To help other countries overseas
Now governors, senators and Mr. President

Now governors, senators and Mr. President

Get off your assess
And give our military everything
They need.

I’ve always been brought up
Take care of your own first
But still you do not listen to the voices
Or your heart would burst

Those men who are fighting with all their might
Overseas or working at home
Should be taken care of all of their life
And never have to go alone

The government doesn’t take care of our own
As good as people think they do
I was once a military brat
Having to go to goodwill for clothes or shoes

Would you be as frivolous with
The money you send ashore
If one of those men on the battlefield

Was not mine but one of yours!
