Graffiti Youth

They are recluses
Lost to others, but finding themselves
Building their own paths and marching on them
Stomping the grounds of authority
Breaking down all the misery coming their way
They are geniuses
Putting down word after word on the sides of the highway
People scorn, but they continue their ride anyway
They don't care if society doesn't accept them
They think society is a mirage
They've broken through the illusion
Seen the dirt and pain underneath
Turned in their tracks
And learned to live, love, and enjoy
Their time on this wasted Earth

And they watch as society

This Poems Story

I have been interested in reading and writing for as long as I can remember. I have always been a different kind of person, who never really fit in with everyone else. "Graffiti Youth" was inspired by my realizing that the teenage mind cannot and should not be constrained as it is in school environments. I am positive that I will never end my love affair with writing. Thank you to those who have supported me and continue to support me along the way. I love you all.
