Greater Love Hath No Man Than This

When my poor Mama passed, it left a hole in my heart,
That I thought no one on earth could fill;
It seemed like everyone else's world was turning,
But my world now stood still.

I searched so long for a true friend,
Who would care and be by my side;
But my search turned up empty,
And my tears I could not hide.

God saw my pain and my tears,
And sent a dear friend my way;
I'm truly grateful to know you,
And for you I shall always pray.

I thank God for you every day,
And you are someone I would miss dearly;
My eyes, once dimmed with tears of sorrow,
These same eyes now see clearly.

This passage still rings true,
Its loving message shall never end:
"Greater Love hath no man than this,
That a man lay down his life for his friends."
