Green

Green is the color of man.
It is the color of life,
And the color of the end.
One can neither live 'nor die
Unless they possess such color.

Green is the color man.
It is the color of greed,
And the color of giving.
One is always in need
Of the color that is green.

Silver and bronze are nice.
They hold great value to the poor;
But green is coveted by all.
Man will always want more
For green is the color of man.

This Poems Story

Growing up in a small town with little money, I could easily see how "green" ruled everything in our world. Whether it be how to spend it, save it, or get it, "green" plays a big role in any decision making process. When someone notices this, it's hard not to write about it. Green is also the color of greed, envy, and jealousy. Money can totally change a person into these things, but I've made a promise to myself that I won't let the "green" turn me "green."
