Samurai’s Farewell

Black smoke chokes the tainted yellow skies...
My lover is lonely, with tears in her eyes...
The day is receding, the night sky eminent...
Everything has been said, and yet I harbor this regret.
My eyes wide shut, ever complacently I fear...
Never privy to my faults, my eyes never clear...
My heart, not quite withered but frozen remains,
I am ignorant of others, yet I still wear this shame...
Won't you stray beneath the cherry blossoms in this waning light?
I long to see you framed in it's petals on this midsummer night...
I will treasure this image until my dying breath...
The only thing that will haunt me, is all the nights you've wept...

I often write from perspectives I could never undersand, this is one of them.
