Growing Trees

We are no longer tiny shrubs,
But we are not yet tall trees.

Watch us as we change,
And sense how our minds grow,

Show us ways in which we can grow,
Not just using the resources the sun gives us.

Be proud of the ways we change,
And be happy for us when we are tall trees standing on our own.

Those feeble shrubs that yearned for light are far away
As our momentum brings us closer to the strong trees
That now share the light they have obtained.

Embrace us with the light you have achieved,
So we can learn and use it
For we are growing trees.
