Growing up

As you sit up high on the edge of the highest cliff,
a vast mountain sight blocks your view of what's to come.
Your eyes lower.
A vast forest, brooks and streams,
you encounter a memory of the childhood you had, playful memories.
Where the vast forest was where you lived.
You looked up a lot.
Wanting to know more about the world.
You stayed close to your brothers and sisters as you swayed away from home.
Soon to become who you are today, a soldier, alone.
Standing tall and proud, unstoppable.
Close to invisible but still with a statement.
The cougar.
