We are told not to fight
Violence is never the answer
There is truth to that
But fighting is necessary

We praise the things in life that are easy
So much so that it can even make some sleazy
I will not lie, I once was that guy
To run and cower than stay and fight

Truth is shown through fear
The fear of violence
The fear of death
The fear of losing love

So I ran without realizing how far I was
Leaving her behind with my excuses
Traveling back my heart plagued by pain
I found her there grown having fought alone

To grow is to learn and understand
So I grew without fail
But I fear that she has not just grown,
But has grown tired of me
