Guarded Heart

With winded hair and a true face so bright.
Brings feelings of flutter that disguise themselves, a fright.

Confused with excitement and a heart pounding glow.
I cry out do you see me, are you there, don't let go.

Coming times will speak the tale.
They were meant for each other but both unaware.
Desperately trying to stay afloat on this timid sea of air.
Will they take it, will they fail?

I wonder what's it's like to tame the sea.
I imagine more than most of what its likeness would be.
Waves would die and stillness shadows deeply.
Forever adrift between the thought of free, yet lonely.

Then the waves call out don't let that be.
You have the chance now,
you and me.
