Guiding Light

By Joy Fox

A gentle presence, a guiding light;
Unexpected occurrence, but the timing was right.

Random perhaps, though a time full of strife;
Destiny, more likely, flowing into my life.

And so it began, once a week with a call;
That lifted me up from my most currant fall.

Together we walked down a path full of mystery;
Creating a bond, and a long treasured history.

Illness that pelted both body and mind;
Compassionate sounding board, easy to find.

Though having set standards for shady behavior;
Your confidence in me, never did waver.

Along came the blessings, defusing the pain;
To celebrate with me, you chose to remain.

Hard to imagine, the pace time goes by;
Sixteen long years, in a blink of an eye

Thank you my friend for your special role;
Your guidance, your loyalty played, healing my soul.
