Gum

She pulled the sticky gum
It stretched but it didn't come out
I looked up at her as she stared intensely at my hair
The sun shined warmly on the left side of her face
I looked down at my bare feet dangling above the cold tile
I squinted and looked to the sun
The grass outside my window was green
But each blade of grass was different
The air that wafted in smelled like summer
The bees buzzed and landed on the flowers
I felt surrounded by all the beautiful things life had to offer
All while in the moment of getting gum pulled out of my hair
Sit still she said
She dropped the peanut butter on my head
