Halfway Out of the Dark

I travel up and down these endless corridors
Trying to find my way
The darkness reaches it's long contorted hands to envelop me
All I need is a light, a spark, a glow, even just one ray

I can feel the darkness grasping
Trying it's best to move in, to get close
Deep within I struggle to bring up my innermost will
But with one thought of my soulmate
I realize my will is strong
Even more than most

As I emerge from the dark void
Light glistens adding glow to the pale canvas
That once was my colorless face
The warmth of the light envelops my skin
With it's divine, loving, grace

My new path becomes vivid and clear
I can never turn back again
I must now move on from that lurid mass of grey
That was once my sunless past
But in tribute I will grant it once last tear
