Halloween’s Child

I awake from my slumber, A long deep
sleep.. impatient and excited.. at last, it’s
Halloween Eve.. That brisk, cool air, leaves
off the trees.. you may not care, but today
is for me. Ghosts, goblins, clowns and ghouls,
I want to see them all.. even the costumes of
fools.
Dress up or dress down, either option is
good.. wear a crown, gown, maybe go out of
town, I definitely think you should. It’s the
day before the day, my mind is going wild..
so much to do and say, I may be Halloween’s
child.
As the sun goes down, and the moon
creeps up.. As the stars shine bright, and
crickets won’t shut up.. I’ll close my eyes, to
awake the next day.. Anxious and ready to
get scary and play. From my head to my toes,
and make-up on my face.. Halloween will
forever be my love, my favorite day.
